Then suddenly a bird disappears and the 3 other birds look down they see the other bird hanging on the branch. "where'd ya go" said one bird "i fainted" said the hanging bird. Alexander got injured and lost his violin with the broken E-string. This happened in WWI at Gallipoli.

The concert had a choir of soldiers and Alec's violin. At the end his E-string broke and he replaced it with field telephone wire. The wire worked as normal and the soldier's started playing it.

Alec got injured and thought he lost his violin. Alec was sent back to NZ with his violin. When he got back he became a teacher and his violin is on display at Otago boys' high school.
